270 runners took part in Fittleworth Flyers West Sussex Fun Run League's 5.25 miles multi terrain race. Rain fell for the first time on the 16th running of the event but the damp conditions suited winner James Baker (Chichester Harriers) who ran the undulating and challenging course in 27.52, beating the course record of 28.06, set by Peter Baker of Portslade Hedgehoppers in 1992. James finished comfortably ahead of last year's winner Paul Froud (Brighton & Hove AC) who ran in 28.47.
First woman was Leisa Smith (Burgess Hill Runners) 35.15, with Tracey Martin (Steyning AC) second in 36.17. Burgess Hill Runners won the event with 84 points increasing their lead in the WSFRL over rivals and hosts Fittleworth Flyers who claimed second place with 82 points.
