Wivelsfield Woodland Wobble 4½m (& Junior Fun Run)

SUNDAY 13th JULY 2008 - 10.15am Juniors - 11am Main Race

The main race is a competitive 4.5mile race over a scenic course, partly on-road but mostly on good quality footpaths and bridle paths around Ditchling Common and skirting St Georges Retreat. The junior race is just under a mile fun run around the playing fields at Wiveslfield Recreation Ground for under 16's (under 5's must be accompanied by an adult).

The main race starts and finishes on the playing fields outside Wivelsfield Village Hall. Last year we had 250 competitors, and runners of all standards are welcome.

The race starts with one and three-quarter laps of the playing fields before heading out onto Eastern Road and a short run along a pavement before turning onto a bridlepath. Please follow marshals’ directions and stay on the pavement at this point. The race heads out onto Hundred Acre Lane and a road closure order will be enforced along this stretch. Thereafter the route sticks to the paths and bridleways on and around Ditchling Common. Towards the end of the race you will have to briefly run on a quiet residential cul-de-sac and we ask you to exercise the usual care and follow marshals instructions. The race finishes with a half lap of the playing fields.

The race will start at 11:00am sharp, runners should assemble in front of the Village Hall in good time.

The junior race will be held on Wivelsfield recreation ground, starting from outside the village hall, and will start at 10:15am.

The first 100 finishers will receive a medal and there will be plenty of spot prizes

There will be limited car parking at Wivelsfield Village Hall, and some on-road parking in Wivelsfield Village. Please park with consideration for local residents, and don’t block the pavements as some of these may be used in the race!.

First aid cover will be provided, based at the Race HQ in the village hall. If you have a medical condition or allergy please let us know, and print the details on the reverse of your race number.

Kit storage facilities will be available at Race HQ, at your own risk. There are toilet facilities but unfortunately there will be no facilities for changing or showering.

A water station will be provided half way around the main race course. There will be tea, cakes etc on sale at Race HQ after the race.

Entry fees are as below, please make cheques / postal orders payable to Burgess Hill Runners. Entry fees are non refundable.

Individual entries will be accepted on the official entry form which is downloadable to your Acrobat Reader.

All postal entries must be received by Friday 4th JULY 2007. Entries will be allowed on the day.

Results of both races will be displayed on this website on the results page. They will also be posted to all WSFRL clubs. Additional posted copies will be available at £1 per set.
